lakenheath - phase one... and phase three...
Yellow Door acquired a partly constructed development at Lakenheath, Suffolk, close to the market towns of Mildenhall, Thetford and Brandon.
Lakenheath has expanded since the 1970’s, and it is anticipated that growth in the area will continue serving commuters to Cambridge, Ipswich and Newmarket.
The property comprises the original Lakenheath Hall, currently arranged as three apartments, along with two detached family homes, all of which are let to USAF personnel. YDP does not own any of these five properties. The rest of the nine acre site is owned by the company and at the time of its purchase in 2016 it had planning consent for nine houses.
The first two of these substantial houses have been completed and are on the market. They are built in the style of the original Lakenheath Hall: local flint with red brick quoins under a slate roof, beautifully finished with solid wood flooring, high-end kitchens and bathrooms in traditional style. Each house sits in a landscaped plot of approximately half an acre.
Phase 3: Yellow Door has gone back to the local planners to improve the planning consent for the remaining seven properties. Once this has been achieved, these houses will be brought to the market at the rate of one or two per year as the market allows.
