3 townhouses in wimbledon...
For this creative project, YDP bought the last house in a row of 1960s terraced townhouses. The house had substantial gardens to the side which accommodated the building of two new houses on the end of the terrace.
The original house was stripped back to a shell, extended and totally refurbished such that it was, save for the original walls, a new build. The two new five-bedroom houses were then built to the same design. Finally, the owners of the other three house in the terrace were persuaded to refinish the fronts of their houses to reflect the standard and appearance of the three 'new' YDP houses. The result was an elegant, simple terrace of six beautiful townhouses.
YDP worked closely with George Laurel and Partners on the design, planning and construction of the houses. Both firms share a passion for eco-friendly construction and the properties were designed and built to Code 3 of the Sustainable Design Guide.
The houses were finished to the highest standards throughout, with under-floor heating, solid wood floors and state of the art audio-visual systems.
